Well, my hips have been killing me since practice on Monday. The Celebrex is dulling the pain enough so I can get to sleep. I see a pain specialist on Monday. I'm not hopeful. Last time I saw a pain specialist they injected a nerve block in my hip, twice. It did nothing. My hip pain laughs at their feeble efforts. I went to my "regular" doctor the other day and found out that my estrogen levels are higher than they're supposed to be and my testosterone levels are low. Coupled with a little morning sickness, I guess I'm pregnant. Well, the doctor says this is not uncommon in people who've been carrying a lot of extra fat for a long time. Fat cells prefer estrogen over testosterone. The doctor says that this could be part of my low endurance. I guess that this is the silver lining? They might be able to "fix" this and improve my endurance? The usual treatment is testosterone injections. The doctor wants to investigate a new treatment, a drug that blocks the conversion of testosterone to estrogen. I new he'd end up using me to write a medical journal article. And all this added to the main source of stress in my life that I can't even talk about in these pages.
